Retraction Notice: Review of Prodigiosin, Pigmentation in Serratia marcescens
Abstract
The Online Journal of Biological Sciences has decided to retract the manuscript titled "Review of Prodigiosin, Pigmentation in Serratia marcescens" authored by Anita Khanafari, Mahnaz M. Assadi, and Fatemeh A. Fakhr, published in Volume 6, Issue 1 with the page numbering 1-13. After receiving a complaint, the editorial office found that the manuscript contains plagiarized material from the manuscript entitled "A novel medium for the enhanced cell growth and production of prodigiosin from Serratia marcescens isolated from soil" by Anuradha V. Giri, Nandini Anandkumar, Geetha Muthukumaran, and Gautam Pennathur, published in BMC Microbiology 4, 11 (2004).
In accordance with recommendations from COPE, we have retracted the manuscript. Apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission and review process.
