Advanced Motion Control and Mechatronic Systems

This special issue invites technical articles focussing on the state-of-the-art in advanced control methods of dynamical systems along with their systemic properties, recent trends, concerns, and challenges for practical implementation in the area, but not limited to, mechatronic systems. Particularly we encourage contributed and survey papers covering emerging applications of motion control in the various engineering fields including robotic, transportation, automotive, aerospace, industrial automation, networked or swarm system, and relevant fields. It also covers fusion of the future technologies such as 5G communication, cloud and edge computing and Internet of things (IoT) with the motion control that opens further opportunity to develop cooperative systems using the cyber-physical framework for the next-generation mechatronics system, industrial automation, integrated transportations and smart city applications.

The articles must be original, unpublished or not currently under review by any other journals. For this special issue, we welcome research articles addressing the following potential topics, but are not limited to:
