AB  - Clostridium limosum is an anaerobic gram positive rod-shaped bacterium found in soil and can cause infections in a variety of animals. Rarely has this organism caused infections in humans. While clostridial prosthetic valve endocarditis is reported infrequently, we document the first human case of prosthetic valve endocarditis as the sole pathogen, due to Clostrdium limosum.
