Viral Hepatitis in Children
Description
This special issue will focus on the invention of more effective drugs regarding viral hepatitis helping to improve the quality of life in children.
Antiviral drugs work by stopping the infection process. Depending on the virus and medicine, the blocking of the process can occur at many different locations. One drug prevents the virus from fusing to the healthy cell by blocking a receptor that helps bind the virus to the cell. By preventing this attachment, the viruses cannot enter or infect the cell. Some viral infections such as hepatitis cannot be fully cured and multiple drugs are used for treatment. In comparison, most antibiotics destroy their target pathogen; instead, they inhibit their development.
As we show, we have not had the appropriate treatment for viral hepatitis due to the fact that most of the drugs acquire resistance or they are efficient.
In this special issue, more experiments are required to find the basis of modern drug discovery. New drugs should destroy the virus and prevent its ability to develop chronic hepatitis. We hope that reduces the multiplicity of drug use, the mortality rate, and ensure the full recovery.
