AB  - The moving frame and associated Gauss-Codazzi equations for surfaces in Minkowski three space are introduced. A split-quaternionic representation is used to identify the Gauss-Weingarten equations with a Lax pair representation. This Lax pair representaion is calculated and given explicitly.
