Multimedia applications have uncompromising and strict deadlines and the packets are worthless if they arrive late than their associated deadlines. The aim of the proposed system is to improve the quality of service by increasing the number of multimedia packets that reaches the destination before their associated deadline without affecting the fairness of other data. The proposed algorithm estimates the optimal packet size for transmission and puts forward a Service Differentiation scheme that drops the packets based on the size and deadline of the packets. Packet loss percentage is observed to be reduced in the proposed system.
