Designing and implementing manual assembly systems require identifying operational and structural complexity sources inherent with these systems. Lack of this fact causes inaccuracy in the results from the system application. This study details sources of both types of complexity in manual assembly systems. Also, the paper will present the modeling techniques to address these complexities in the design approach of these systems.
