Immune responses in Invertebrates and Lower Vertebrates

Description

At the beginning, in 1980-85, we discovered the sea star T-like and B-like lymphocytes, the phagocytes, and cellular cooperation to express antibody-like humoral response.

Then, from 2010 to 2019, genomic studies, assert evidence of kappa genes (Imlet, 2011) Igkappa gene (Meta Gene, 2013) Fab fragment gene (2016) Fc receptor gene (2016): they corroborate humoral response in invertebrates. Now, we speak, in invertebrates of IPA (Invertebrate Primitive Antibody) and not of an "Antibody-like" factor, we speak of T and B sea star lymphocytes and not T-like or B-like subsets.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  1. Immune cells in Invertebrates and Lower Vertebrates
  2. Humoral responses in Invertebrates and Lower Vertebrates
  3. Immune genes in Invertebrates and Lower Vertebrates
  4. Kappa genes in Lower Vertebrates
